I had a nice hike this morning down at the Wichita Federal Wildlife Refuge. It is about an hour and fifteen minutes from my house and my favorite place in Oklahoma to hike.
This particular canyon is not far from a trail head and pretty easy to get to if you are sure footed.
It is called Forty Foot Hole so I assume the walls are about forty feet.
Above the falls, I climbed down to this quiet part in the stream and just listened to the sounds for awhile.I'm a little aggravated because I got some fantastic pictures of flowers and buffalo when I first arrived but they didn't show up when I downloaded the camera to my laptop. Not sure where they went but was sorry because several looked exceptional. The wildflowers are lovely this time of year.
I love thistles.
I also saw a pretty doe.
The girls didn't get to go with me but I enjoyed the time alone with my soul.
