Fiery Stars

I finished the Fiery Stars lap quilt top, this afternoon.  It is fifty inches square.

I'd already posted the main part but I used the scraps to make a border.
There are hourglass blocks on the sides and pinwheels in the corners.
The fabrics definitely blend and aren't very defined in the hourglasses or the pinwheels.
Don't look close.  I missed more corners than I hit.
But I always love a white or off white background to make darker colors pop, overall.
For a time, I had to stop because my good quilting buddy fell asleep on my feet.  I couldn't use the sewing machine pedal or get up to press or cut.
She isn't spoiled or anything.

I love Evelyn's feet. Have I mentioned that?

That is a beautiful quilt and I love how your border has turned out.

And yes, you ~cannot~ disturb a sleeping four-paws, even if your foot is trapped!

A lovely quilt. I agree that the white really sets off the darker colors. The colors of a sunset sky.
When I was a girl and had a cocker spaniel, I loved the smell of her feet. So spice like, and kind of musty.
Does your new home come with a storm cellar?

Lovely quilt and aptly named!

Can't count the number of hours I've spent trapped in the recliner with a sleeping cocker spaniel in my lap. I love holding Tandi's fat cockerpaws in my palm. She's not so fond of it, but puts up with it to humor me.

Love the quilt and your quilting buddy picture looks pretty much like what happens at our house. In my case it usually means speedy presser foot time and move my fingers out of the way quickly :)

I have clearly missed out in life, I don't remember our dogs' paws in any particular fondness! I love the 'red and white' (close-enough) quilt. It will be wonderful when quilted too.
