Paw Prints on a Quilt
I want to thank everyone for their sweet words of sympathy and understanding about Jezebel's lab results. I've been somewhat in a funk most of the day although I am not sure if that is grief or exasperation at the extremely hard headed, bossy, know-it-all I live with.
I am not talking about Evelyn.
Here are a few pictures of Jezebel's quilt where I was working on quilting in paw prints. The tension is off and I am really, really afraid I am going to have to rip out many weeks of work (slight exaggeration). I'm just hoping I can get the tension fixed. I love the idea of the quilted paw print but the dark back is giving me fits. Never again!
I haven't begun to clean it up, yet, and I hope I will be able to work out some of the dark thread bunches. It has been a challenge.
I made a little progress on the Amish Nine Patch but got tired of doing the sashing and took a break.
Evelyn has been pretty much a love bunny, today.
The breeder tells me that the babies are all looking great, have started eating hard food, and are walking around with little tails over their backs. Their muzzles are filling out. All of them look to be developing into beautiful Samoyeds. We plan to drive down to get our little girl four weeks from today. Hooray!
I am going to really have to keep things picked up so we are puppy proof. Even things like thread on my sewing room floor could be deadly. I think most of us forget just how much work it is to have a puppy in the house. Evelyn will be absolutely thrilled to have a playmate. Husband and I are too old to run and wrestle with her the way she used to do with Jezebel.
Happy Weekend.

The paw prints are perfect for Jezebel's quilt! I hope you can get the tension fixed. Hang in there!
THe paw prints are so cute! What a neat idea, Penny!
Can't wait to see more pics of the puppies!
Janet made some suggestions about the mctavishing around them so I can't claim credit for that. But for the blasted tension, I am really happy with how they look. I may do this, again, sometime.
I love the paw prints! I'm sure you'll work out the tension problems, just give yourself time and be patient. I'm sorry about the results of the biopsy for Jezebel. But conversely, if you had left it alone and the cancer had claimed her early...God was ready for that little angle in heaven, she's keeping your mom company.
I have to learn to proof read my comments, Jezebel in an angel, not an angle.....sheesh.
I like what you're doing with this, Penny. I'm sure you'll get your tension problems worked out. Good luck in court tomorrow!
Janet
great quilting on Jezebel's quilt. Sometimes all it takes on the tension is a fresh start on a new day. Good luck with that!
Penny the quilting looks very nice. I can't wait to see your new bundle of joy.
Use the same color in the bobbin as in the top for the pawprints...then they will parade across the back of the quilt...
Sherry, if I end up yanking those prints, that is exactly what I am going to do. Great suggestion!
