Preparing For the Next Phase

I didn't get much quilting done, today, but I put together a couple of Sylvia blocks over the weekend:

I am having so much fun with these bright colors.  Here is Gulf Star:

I used more of the ovarian cancer fabric.  And here is Jack in the Box:

Jack in the Box is an easy paper pieced block.

One of the nicest things about Sylvia's Bridal Sampler is that it has a lot of different types of blocks - paper pieced, applique, template based.

Here are a couple of  wall photos, to date:

The new blocks are on the bottom.

Pearl is working on her Quilting Buddy skill set.

I fell in love with this shot.  Pearl just loves Evelyn.

Evelyn cracks me up.

Look at this blissful face!

And these paws!

This big semi-empty sewing room just swallows up the girls.

I am going to miss this vast space at the new house.  I will be taking over a bedroom, at first.  It is a regular sized bedroom and I am very grateful to have it but it will be a big change.  Here is a picture:

Of course, the bed and other furniture will be moved and we are fortunate that it has a large, walk-in closet.  The plan is to convert the oversized two car garage to a sewing room and I'll have southern and western light once I'm in there.   But that may take awhile.   If it takes too long, I'll set up my longarm in the barn, which is heated and cooled.

I did more packing and made some tomato dumplings. Then ate them.  The girls helped.  I sorted through financial records and have most of them where they need to be.  The handy man was supposed to come work on the outside window sills but he had car trouble and never showed.

I think I will go have a glass of wine.

Happy Quilting,

Penny, Evelyn and Pearl

I know I'm repeating myself, but I love seeing your sweet dogs. They're beautiful.

I agree that the Sylvia blocks look oustanding in the bright colors. Every time I see your block collection I drool.

Don't you love animals in their various sleeping poses? I don't have a dog anymore (and doubt I ever will again because it was too painful to lose him) but I have a cute cat and 2 rabbits who sleep in funny poses.

I had rabbits when I was a kid and I'd forgotten that they sleep cute, too. Thanks for the happy memory!
