The past few days I have been casting my thoughts towards long arm accessories. I’ve gotten some great suggestions online for thread, batting, tools, suppliers. Before ordering, I contacted the dealer to confirm what accessories and supplies were included. I went ahead and ordered an extended plate and a couple of rulers that the sales guy will bring with him when he arrives to set up the long arm.
I was thrilled to be reminded that as part of my purchase, I have a full day of free classes to help me learn to use the thing. I guess I knew that, but forgot. They suggested I wait until I have gotten acquainted with her so if there is a particular style of quilting I like (say free motion), they can schedule a class with an expert in that area for me. Cool, eh? I also learned that as a Gammill Owner, I am eligible for certain other classes. There is a half day maintenance class on Saturday, April 5th. I will definitely want to spend the day there and it is only a couple of hours away.
I also ordered some thread cones and some zippers to attach the quilt parts. I’ll need to figure out how to attach the zippers to the machine. I ordered extra pre-wound bobbins and a few miscellaneous tools. After thinking about it, I ordered a bolt of warm and natural, queen size, from Jo-Anns with a 40% off coupon. Now how are they going to ship that?????? I have no idea. I guess I’ll be able to stash it under the long arm table.
This morning, I ordered two continuous line quilt design books from Amazon. I used a couple of coupons so they were free and included free shipping.
On top of that, Husband is looking into another property in Oklahoma City. It is five acres, has a huge barn and no trees. The bank is looking to unload it and we are very interested. The agent is taking a close look at it in the morning. Wish us luck!
Evelyn’s birthday is tomorrow. She will be three years old. The picture, below, was taken when she was a wee pup.
